Obituary

Kaleb Cameron Giles age19 a resident of Kinston, Alabama passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Rhoades Community Center located in the Perry Store Community on Saturday, April 13, 2019 beginning at 5:00 PM with Rev. Terriel Andrews officiating and the eulogy will be given by Josh McCall. The family will be receiving friends 30 minutes prior to the service on Saturday. The family request the ommision of flowers and ask memorials be made at any Wells Fargo branch to Chris and Lisa Giles’ account.

Kaleb was born September 1, 1999 in Panama City, Florida and moved to Ozark in 2004 then to Kinston in 2014. He had many talents, in 2007 at age 8 he rose to #1 in the nation in NBL BMX racing. A few years later he excelled in Motorcross racing. He attended Harvest Christian School in Ozark also attending G.W. Long, Red Level, and Kinston schools. He worked construction during the summer for TNC Custom Trim and was employed at Asplundh Tree Service at the time of his death. He valued his family and was a very loving son, with a heart of gold. He had so much to offer this world, and will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish his memories are his parents; Lisa Giles, and Christopher Scott Giles, Kinston, AL, Brother – Destin Skylar Williams, Panama City Beach, FL, Brother – Christopher Jacob Giles, Calera, AL, and Sister – Sarah Shyanne Williams of Panama City Beach, FL. He is also survived by his Maternal Grandfather – Larry Wade Cunningham, Ardmore, TN, Paternal Grandfather – Bobby G. Stuckey, Opp, AL, Paternal Grandmother – Sue Stuckey, Opp, AL, Paternal Grandfather – James Giles, Malvern, AL, an Uncle – Larry Cunningham, Ardmore, TN, and an Aunt- Mary Giles from Ozark, AL.

Kaleb was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandmother Sarah Lee Alexander, along with his Paternal Grandmother Mary Giles.

Hayes Funeral Home of Elba, Alabama is serving the Giles family.

Victim in Kinston shooting identified, no arrests made

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Bureau of Investigations has released the name of the victim in Sunday evening’s shooting in Kinston.

Kaleb Giles, 19, of Kinston, is identified as the victim in the shooting, according to ALEA investigator Lt. Heath Carpenter.

On Sunday, Dec. 16, the Alabama State Bureau of Investigations (SBI) responded to a firearm assault in Kinston in Coffee County at the request of the Kinston Police Chief Alvah Carlson.

At approximately 4:15 p.m. on Dec. 16, the Kinston Police Department received reports of a firearm assault in the 700 block of Highway 52 North. When officers arrived, they found Giles suffering from what is believed to be multiple gunshot wounds. Giles died from his injuries at the scene.

Officers made immediate contact with a person of interest who remained on the scene and fully cooperated with investigators. SBI agents, along with investigators from the Coffee County District Attorney’s Office, Coffee County Sheriff’s Office and the Kinston Police Department actively participated in the case.

An autopsy will be performed, Carpenter said, adding that the completed investigation will be submitted by the Coffee County District Attorney’s Office for review.
