Charlayne Renice Washington “Yella Bone” was born at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, Alabama on November 24, 1997. She was the first born to Tanya Denise Washington (Montgomery, Alabama) and Mario Johnson (Buffalo, New York). She grew up between Port Gibson, Mississippi and Montgomery, Alabama. She always kept a big beautiful smile which no one can forget. Her favorite colors were pink and green to match her facial glow.
She often spoke about going back to school to become an AKA. She definitely had the beauty, spirit and style to make the dream come true. She enjoyed eating her favorite foods of french friends, chicken wings, hot sauce, crab legs, spaghetti, sweets, and granny’s cooking. She was the highlight of every party and family trip.
Charlayne leaves behind a host of family and friends to honor her life to include her mother Tanya Denise Washington and here sister Tayana Ma’Kaylia Washington, her granparents Herman and Sandy Washington, her great aunt Kathy Elaine Washington-Ekorikoh, her great unscle Timonty Washington, and Samuel Washington, her aunt and uncle Tasha-Washington O’Quin and D’Shawn O’Quinand Sydney Nicole Washington, her cousins Xavery Herman Washington who is more of a brother and Dezmond O’quin, and her best friend, Anastasia Flowers. She also leaves behind a host of Davis family members from Lowndes county, friends and teachers all over the world.
Funeral services held on July 14, 2018 1:00pm at Lee’s Funeral Home, 2020 W. Jeff Davis Ave., Montgomery, Alabama 36108 with Reverend Kelvin Brown officiating. Active pallbearers will be Xavery Herman Washington, Ritchie Davis, RoJ’a J. McToy, Qu’eaunsa Davis, Dezmond O’Quin, Qu’eErre Moss. Honorary pallbearers are Nicholas Derby and Tyler Reed. Casket customized by Kathy Elaine Washington-Ekorikoh.

A Montgomery man has been arrested in relation to a fatal shooting on July 4.
Octavius Hampton, 24, was charged with murder after a domestic dispute Wednesday afternoon that led to the death of Charlayne Washington, 20, an MPD news release states.
The Montgomery Police Department and Fire Medics responded to the 3000 block of Southmall Circle at about 3:45 p.m. after receiving a report that a subject had been shot. There, they located Washington, who had sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to Baptist Medical Center South where she was later pronounced dead.
Hampton was arrested at the scene of the incident then transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility, where he was being held under a $150,000 bond.
MPD’s investigation determined that the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute between the victim and her boyfriend, the release states. Further investigation identified Hampton as the suspect.
